Even if you're a super mom, you're still going to find yourself dealing with crabby and bored kids at times. Instead of trying to deal with whiny kids at home, get them out of the house for an activity. Laguna Woods is a small community in Orange County, California. While there aren't a whole lot of activities for your kiddo in Laguna Woods, there is plenty to do in the surrounding communities.
1. Museum or Zoo
Plan a museum or zoo day for your little sweetie pie. Pretend City Children's Museum (pretendcity.org) is just 12 minutes away in Irvine. Stop by the Art Studio and create a work of art with your little Picasso or build a bustling city or skyscraper together at the Construction Site. Attend a Way to Play Day where your kiddo can complete challenges and take part in hands-on activities. Visit the Santa Ana Zoo (santaanazoo.org), a short 20-minute drive away in Santa Ana. Explore the zoo while checking out all of the animals or take a ride on the Zoofari Express. Your little princess will squeal with delight when she goes 'round and 'round on the Conservation Carousel.
2. Indoor Play
When the weather isn't ideal for outdoor play, choose an indoor activity for your munchkin man. Visit Atlantis Aquatics (swimatlantis.com), three minutes away in Laguna Hills, for a Parent and Me class with your toddler or swim lessons for your preschooler. Let your little guy run off some energy at Pump It Up (pumpitupparty.com), an indoor play facility a three-minute drive away in Lake Forest. Pop-In Pre-K Playtime is a perfect way for your kiddo to play with other kids his age in a safe environment. He'll have a blast jumping around on all of the interactive inflatables.
Pick a nice sunny day to get your cutie out for some fresh air and fun at one of the area parks. The City of Lake Forest (lakeforestca.gov), just three minutes away, has 27 parks to choose from. Visit the Lake Forest Sports Park where you'll find not one, but two fantastic tot lots for your toddler or preschooler to run and play safely. Visit The Dinosaur Park (funorangecountyparks.com), three minutes away in Laguna Hills. The park boasts two play levels with a variety of equipment, all with an exciting prehistoric theme. Slide down one of the slides with your little guy or soak up the giggles as he explores and climbs over the huge turtle sculptures.
Sign your little darling up for a class in the area. Just three minutes away, the City of Laguna Hills (ci.laguna-hills.ca.us) has a selection of kids classes to choose from. In the summer she can take Music Together, Soccer Starters or Peewee Picasso. During the winter months choose from Tunes and Tales; Do, Re, Mi Musical Me, or Playtime. Drive three minutes over to the City of Lake Forest (lakeforestca.gov), where your princess can take a ballet class, Pee Wee Gymnastics or Parent and Me Art Time. Let her help choose which classes sound the most exciting to her and then allow her to try a few different ones to see which one is the best fit.
