Wisconsin is home to the Harley Davidson Motorcycle headquarters and the nation's largest water-themed amusement park, and it is the birthplace of Harry Houdini. It has become an immensely popular vacation and party destination, despite its cooler climate and shorter summers. Consider one of the Badger State's many options for your teen's next birthday.
1. Waterparks in Wisconsin Dells
Despite its relatively short winters and the cool average temperatures, Wisconsin has improvised to become one of the nation's top waterpark destinations because of one innovation: the indoor water park. There are many indoor parks from which to choose for a teen birthday celebration. Kalahari Resort Waterpark is the largest indoor waterpark in Wisconsin and also has an outdoor portion that is open when weather permits. Inside of its 125,000 square feet of indoor joy are the Sahara Sidewinders and Screaming Hyena body slides, which will keep your teen and her friends entertained all day. Birthday packages for eight or more are available and include pizza and soda, as well as admission to the park. Noah's Ark is America's largest outdoor waterpark and is open from May to September. Your teen will enjoy the more than 80 slides, tubes and other adventures this park has to offer. Quadzilla is a four-lane racing ride on which your teen can race her friends. While there are no birthday packages available, you will receive a substantial discount for a group of 15 or more.
2. Amusement Parks
Wisconsin is also home to a variety of indoor and outdoor amusement parks, many of which would make an epic home for your teen's party. Mount Olympus Resorts, in Wisconsin Dells, is dubbed the world's largest water and theme park resort. This park has over 1,000 rooms and seven go-cart tracks, which are free with your hotel stay, six roller coasters and an enormous indoor/outdoor theme and water park. While birthday parties are not marketed to guests, the park offers a group rate for 15 or more guests and the hotel offers a group rate with 10 or more guests. Little Amerricka, in Marshall, offers the younger teen a full carnival atmosphere with bumper boats and cars, go-karts and roller coasters among its 26 attractions. The park offers a birthday party package for groups of six or more that includes use of a birthday tent as well as food and a cake.
3. Indoor Activities
If your party is to be held in the sometimes frigid Wisconsin winter, consider an indoor activity. The Barlow Planetarium, in Menasha, offers three birthday party packages, the best of which includes a personalized cake, a star chart showing the stars the day your teen was born and a private planetarium show. The Siege, located in Mukwonago, offers indoor and outdoor paintball and paintball-themed lasertag. The facility offers a birthday packages for 10 or more teens. The facility also offers Airsoft battles and other activities.
4. Other Options
Wisconsin has rivers and streams that, if stretched, would circumnavigate the Earth at the equator. Consider a camping birthday party if weather permits. Wolf River, in Langlade County, is a fast-paced river that many use for a raft or inner tube float trip. This speedy river drops 430 feet over 28 miles and will provide your adventurous teen with a story to remember. If your teen celebrates in the winter between December and April, consider Adventure Snowmobile Tours, in Minocqua, for a snowmobile trip of a lifetime. This tour company provides you with a rustic cabin that sleeps 10 as part of the birthday package. The trained professionals at Adventure Snowmobile Tours will take your group on an ability-appropriate tour on one of many exciting paths.
