Orange Schnapps Mixed Drinks

Orange schnapps is a bitter-sweet liqueur distilled from the dried peels of oranges. You can enjoy it by itself, but its acidic taste works best when you blend it with a variety of other liquors and juices.You can also use it in recipes that call for orange liqueur. If you are looking for a festive mixer for your next Girl’s Night Out, orange schnapps is a zesty ingredient you can use to create luscious cocktails.

1. Simple Cocktails

To create an atomic screwdriver, add equal parts orange schnapps, vodka and orange juice to a glass filled with ice. Stir the ingredients and garnish with an orange twist. You can make a blood orange cocktail by mixing equal parts of orange schnapps and cranberry juice. Serve in a tall glass over ice and garnish with an orange wedge. To make an island orange drink, simply mix equal parts orange schnapps and pineapple juice. Serve in a pretty cocktail glass garnished with a pineapple wedge.

2. Martinis

A tangy tart martini blends orange schnapps with lemon juice. Mix equal parts orange schnapps, vodka and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker over ice. Shake the ingredients and then strain into a cocktail glass rimmed with fine sugar. Garnish your drink with a slice of orange. What ladies night would be complete without a Cosmo? Blend two parts vodka and orange schnapps with one part cranberry juice in a cocktail shaker. Add a splash of lime juice and shake. Strain into a martini glass and garnish with a lime wedge.

Orange schnapps is a tangy ingredient that you can add to multi-liquor drinks, for an added bitter-sweet taste. The Captain Jack Sparrow is a potent concoction created by mixing two parts of tequila and rum with one part orange schnapps. Add limeade and a splash of maraschino cherry juice. Serve this cocktail in a highball glass over ice and garnish with a cherry. The fruity exploration is a super sweet cocktail that includes mixing equal parts orange schnapps and apple schnapps with orange juice and cranberry juice. Fill a tall glass with ice and pour the ingredients in one at a time. Gently stir the mixture and serve garnished with an orange wedge and a cherry speared with a toothpick.

4. Pitcher Drinks and Sangria

For easy entertaining, create cocktails in a pitcher instead of making individual drinks one by one. Margaritas are enhanced when the fruity flavor of orange schnapps is added to the mix. In a pitcher, mix two parts tequila and two parts orange schnapps. Add in one part lime juice and one half-part simple syrup. Stir the ingredients well. Serve in margarita glasses filled with ice and garnished with a wedge of lime. Orange schnapps can be added to red or white wine to create delectable sangria. Fill a large pitcher with cut up oranges and lemons and add ice. Pour in two parts of the wine of your choice and one part orange schnapps. Add one part lemon-lime soda and stir the ingredients. Serve sangria in a wine glass garnished with an orange wedge.
